There's Someplace Like Home
Dog Sitting and Dog Daycare
FAQs
What is your background?
I was raised in the country on a large dairy farm
in East Central Minnesota and have lived with
animals my entire life. There is one 'rule' of
farm life - - nobody retires for the night until the
animals are fed and happy. That rule applies each and
every day for the pets at
There's Someplace Like Home.
I have always loved animals and began dog sitting several
year ago. It was definitely 'love at first sit.'
I truly enjoy adapting to your pet's personality and social
needs as well as ensuring that they are comfortable and
happy in my home.

I work from my home and will provide your pet with all the attention he
or she needs  throughout the day. Your dog will be walked
2-3 times a day through my quiet neighbor-hood. There's
also supervised access to my fenced yard at any time.

Do you have any other pets or children?
I do not own any other pets but may be boarding other dogs during your
pet's stay. There are no children present in the home.

Can you describe your home and yard?
My home is a restored bungalow within blocks of
Lake Harriet in the Kingfield neighborhood. Your pet
will stay comfortable summer or winter with the
central air and heat.  The interior has plenty of chairs
for relaxing and spying on passersby. Your pet will
not need to stay off any furniture (unless, of course, your
current house rules dictate.)

The back yard is surrounded by a cedar fence and features more than
500  perennials. It's  the perfect size for pets who like to explore, hang
out or simply relax. The back yard features a koi pond (a hit for dogs
everywhere who love to watch the fish dart around and sip from the
fountain, gazebo for shade on those hot summer days and an outdoor
fireplace near a comfy sofa for snuggling on cold fall days.

Are you able to give my do medications during the stay?
I'm skilled at administering pills to pets. There is no additional fee for this service.
However, I do not give medicinal injections.

My Dog's a 'Door Dasher' Are you prepared for that?
Never fear. I have 10 years of experience with my 'door dashing' Houdini cat.

I have more than one dog. Do you accept multiples?
Absolutely.

What's a Doggie Diary? NEW!
You won't miss a moment of your pet's life while you're out of town. All 'Pet Parents' receive a Doggie Diary upon returning
home with a description of your pet's visit including photos. Want an update while you're away? I'd be happy to email you
a photo of your pet during your business trip or vacation.

What do I, as an owner, need to do to prepare for my pet's stay?
* Owners provide all food, treats, bones, medicine and dog crate (if needed.)
* Your dog must be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated (Distemper/Rabies Bordetella) and treated for
fleas/ticks/heartworm prior to arrival. Proof of vaccination/treatment is required in advance.
* You will also be asked to complete a brief 'Dog Profile' so that I can get to know your pet in advance of his or her arrival.

May I visit your home?
Home visits are permitted in advance. I encourage you to bring your
pet along.

The diary you did for Rufus
is too cute! I cannot believe
what good care you give to
the dogs. Thank you again. It
was really great to know
that he was in such good
hands while we were away.
I'm thinking he might have
gotten just a touch spoiled,
but it's o.k.  He's worth it.
